Star Deep Water Petroleum Limited, an Agbami Field Operator, and Chevron Company funds this scholarship program as their way of social investment in building the education system in Nigeria.

Requirements/Eligibility

  • 100 and 200 level students from any state or federal university in Nigeria studying Medical and Engineering courses.
  • Submit the following documents for application: passport photograph with white background of 200kb size, school ID card, university admission letter, birth certificate, O’level result, UTME result, LGA letter of identification.
  • Application deadline: The application opens middle of the year and usually closes in October annually.
  • Award amount: The sum of N100,000 is given to Engineering students, and N200,000 to medical students.

2. NLNG Scholarship

This scholarship is open to undergraduate students enrolled in Nigerian universities and polytechnics. The Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG Limited) has a four-tier scholarship of which the undergraduate scholarship comes under. The scholarship helps to support and grow high potential students in various areas. It was founded in 1998 but later opened to the rest of Nigeria in 2003. After a total of 2833 undergraduate scholars, and spending over N600million, the NLNG scholarship is surely out to promote academic excellence.

5. MTN Foundation Scholarship

The popular telecommunications company offers an annual scholarship to full-time second-year undergraduates in Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education with the aim of developing and promoting education in Nigeria. The scholarship is awarded to about 500 students every year.

Requirements/Eligibility

  • Applicant in universities must maintain a 3.5 and above CGPA until graduation to retain the scholarship. While applicants in polytechnics and colleges of education must maintain a 3.0 CGPA.
  • Eligible courses fall under the following categories: Accounting, Agricultural science, Architecture, Engineering, Computer science, Mathematics, Geophysics.

6. Nigerian AGIP Oil Scholarship

The scheme was established in 1992 and has since disbursed over 35,000 scholarships. It is open for strictly 100 level students. This is a joint venture partnership between NNPC/NAOC/OANDO as a corporate social responsibility within the Nigeria Education space. The scholarship is for freshman undergraduates in both public and private universities in Nigeria. It is broadly classified into two: Host Communities Merit Award(Applicants who are indigenes of operating communities) and National Merit Award(Non-Host communities).
